ProgressNow & CCHI marginalize women’s health issues with latest wave of “educational” ads
DENVER (November 12, 2013)—Today, the ProgressNow Colorado Education and Colorado Consumer Health Initiative’s project “Got Insurance,” debuted its latest wave of offensive advertisements, purportedly created to “educate” women.
“This inflammatory ad campaign is desperately trying to distract from the fact that exchange sign-ups have essentially ground to a halt, so I’m hesitant to even partake in their ruse,” said Kelly Maher, executive director of Compass Colorado. “While nearly a quarter of a million Coloradans have had their plans cancelled, ProgressNow and Colorado Consumer Health Initiative are demeaning and belittling women with shallow sexual caricatures and making light of serious women’s health issues.”
The rest of their “educational” advertisements, containing other eyebrow raising advertisements, can be viewed on their website.
