The two previous entrants – state Senator Andy Kerr and state Representative Brittany Pettersen – both live in the Jefferson County portion of the district. Moreno lives in and represents the Adams County portion, which has been increasing in importance as a swing area in recent elections. That fact could be key in setting him apart from the other candidates.
