(GREENWOOD VILLAGE, CO) – Senator Mark Udall (D-CO) still has not returned tainted campaign donations from Jon Corzine, the former New Jersey Governor and embattled former CEO of MF Global, according to his latest FEC filing report. MF Global continues to be investigated by Congress, as well as criminal investigators and federal regulators, for the loss of up to $1.2 billion in customer money.
“By refusing to return Jon Corzine’s tainted campaign donations, Mark Udall is symbolically voicing his support for corrupt Wall Street institutions,” said Tyler Q. Houlton, president of Compass Colorado. “Udall should return Corzine’s corrupt donations immediately and start siding with his Colorado constituents instead of New York City bankers.”
President Barack Obama and the Democratic National Committee stealthily returned $70,000 in donations from the Corzines two days before Christmas. Congress held its fourth hearing on MF Global’s financial collapse yesterday to investigate risky investments in European sovereign debt. Jon Corzine donated $4,600 to Udall’s senate campaign.
